The 2014 Shell Advance Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix will be the 24th consecutive year motorcycle racing’s premier class competes in Malaysia. It will be held from 24-26 October 2014.Malaysia and motorcycle racing have a long connection. As far back as the 1960’s we were already hosting events with world-class machinery and riders.
Throughout the years, there have been numerous winners in Malaysia across the various classes of bikes (Moto3TM, Moto2TM and MotoGPTM) but they have all shared a common trait, being among the best riders in their classes. The list is studded with multiple world champions and some of them have completed a triple crown of wins in all categories.
With bigger impact this year, Malaysia will be having five (5) national riders competing in MotoGP. Zulfahmi Khairuddin (Ongetta-AirAsia Racing Team), Amirul Hafiq Azmi (SIC-Ajo Racing Team) and Hafiza Rofa (Wildcard Rider) are rivals for Moto3TM category while Azlan Shah (IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia) and Hafizh Syahrin (Petronas Raceline Malaysia) are contenders in Moto2TM category.
